Join Us on Our Journey to Self-sufficiency and Independence

You’re probably thinking “not another blog about prepping!” What is this blog about anyway and what makes it different? For one thing, I understand that many bloggers start out with good intentions, but life and other stuff gets in the way. Many blogs start out with a bang but eventually fizzle out due to lack of interest. I’ve had some amazing mentors from whom I’ve learned a lot. One of the best pieces of advice was to keep it up on a regular basis. Consistency is the key. That applies to most things in life and definitely to blogs. I tend to stick with things and not give up easily. I’m committed to applying the same persistence to this blog. Whatever happens, I won’t quit trying.

Why am I doing this? My goal is to share experiences so you can learn from the successes as well as the failures. A few years ago, our family made a change in where and how we live. Since that move, we have changed a lot of things in our life – things related to food, energy, security and many others. I’ve tried my hand at quite a few projects related to self sufficiency and independence. Some went well and some not so much. Even the failures taught me things.

My sincere wish is that my experiences can teach you something as well. Hopefully I will get constructive feedback from readers and learn from that too. I’m kind of a jack-of-all-trades. Some day I hope to be a master of some. I’ll try anything once. Sometimes twice if the first time didn’t hurt too much.
